Dr. Joanna Sleigh is a postdoctoral researcher and science communicator at the Health Ethics and Policy Lab at ETH Zurich led by Prof. Dr. Effy Vayena. With a background at the intersection of arts, science, and technology, she uses visual tools and digital platforms to make complex ethical and policy questions easier to understand and act upon. Informed by media anthropology and visual studies, Joanna transforms non-binding standards and ethical frameworks into intuitive digital tools. Her research interests include the ethics of emerging technologies, generative AI in science communication, and human-centered design. She also serves as Director of Communications for the AI Ethics and Policy Network at ETH Zurich and has led major public engagement projects, including exhibitions focused on climate change.
