Guidelines for ethics in health research are typically buried in long, dense documents that most people find hard to use. To make these principles more practical, we created the «Health Data Ethics Map», a visual, interactive guide to the ethical framework of the «Swiss Personalized Health Network» SPHN. Using a combination of methods, including detailed text analysis and hands-on design testing, the «Health Data Ethics Map» transforms a complex, interconnected policy into an easy-to-explore digital tool. The map clarifies how rights and responsibilities around personal data and human biological samples relate to one another, turning voluntary guidelines into something people can actually learn from. The testing shows that this visual approach leads to better understanding, deeper ethical thinking, and a more satisfying experience than reading traditional text documents.
