Markus Graf is a project manager at the City of Zurich Civil Engineering Office and heads the «Attractive Urban Space City» project. This participatory process is increasingly being used for project development in public spaces. In addition to traditional methods, the city is also focusing on digital approaches. In 2025, the City of Zurich, under the leadership of Markus Graf and in collaboration with ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences and ZHdK Zurich University of the Arts, conducted a test on VR participation. With the help of VR glasses, participants were able to interactively redesign public spaces virtually and experience the results in an immersive way.
