Argentine director and multidisciplinary artist Julián Ignacio Garcés trained at Buenos Aires’ Teatro Colón and the ZHdK Zurich University of the Arts building a practice that spans theater, opera, dance, and design. His work at the Teatro Colón includes the opera «Don Juan» (2016), for which he wrote both direction and libretto and won the Primer Concurso de Nueva Ópera prize. His diploma in Stage Direction, «4.48 Psychosis (2023), was selected for the Körber Junge Regie Festival in Hamburg. As co-director of the Sol Lírica ensemble — a pillar of Argentina’s independent opera scene — he staged works including «Hänsel und Gretel, «Così fan Tutte, and «Il Mondo della Luna. In Switzerland, he worked as dramaturge for the dance pieces «Un diálogo con las sombras» and «haVITAt» and teaches singing, stage performance, and theater at the ZHdK.
