Hayal is Head of Marketing and Communications and a member of the Executive Board of the Zurich City School Board. He is a member of the city of Zurich’s AI expert group and contributes to the development of AI strategies and practical playbooks. His goal is to provide guidance and certainty for schools and educational organizations for using AI in a pedagogically sound, legally compliant, and equitable manner. Hayal sees AI not as a technological issue, but as a cultural and didactic shift: away from pure knowledge transfer and toward competence orientation, critical thinking, and reflective use. His focus is on pragmatic approaches, concrete application examples, and the question of how AI can sustainably strengthen learning, collaboration, and social participation.
