Francesco Veri is a senior researcher at the Center for Democracy Aarau at the University of Zurich. His research combines political behavior, democratic participation, and deliberation theory, increasingly with a focus on how artificial intelligence and democratic decision-making processes interact. As project manager, he is currently responsible for the SNF project Triage Against the Machine, which investigates whether AI is capable of objective, considered exchange. He is also working on the EU project AI4Deliberation, which develops digital tools to involve broad sections of the population in democratic processes.
